Anonymous Arabic manuscript on handmade laid paper, likely produced in the Arabian Peninsula during the 19th century. A practical rūḥānī (spirit-magic) manual in the tradition of Shams al-Maʿārif and Ghayat al-Amānī, containing instructions for spiritual operations, the use of Divine Names, magic squares (awfāq), talismanic diagrams, invocations, and esoteric formulae. Written in a clear working hand with rubricated headings and diagrams throughout. Lacking a title page and colophon (typical of like manuscripts), and preserved in a later cloth binding housed in a custom clamshell box. An attractive and authentic example of a working Islamic magical manuscript, reflecting the living traditions of Arabic talismanic and occult practice.
